County Kids’ Contemporary Dance

Join Marlise Ponzo in a fun filled contemporary dance class for children ages 5-10. Move to classical and contemporary music while being introduced to the fundamentals of the Graham and Limon techniques. Students will explore rhythm, musicality, improvisation and kinetic expressiveness and begin to explore use of breath in movement and dynamic use of weight.

Marlise Ponzo danced with The Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre (then The Canadian Children’s Dance Theatre.) She studied at the Etobicoke School of the Arts, majoring in dance and has attended dance intensives at Jacob’s Pillow, Simon Fraser University and at the Martha Graham School in New York, most recently completing her second teachers intensive virtually with the Graham School this winter. Marlise lives here in PEC on her family farm in Ameliasburgh.

Dates: Tuesdays – March 16th to April 20th
