Accomplished dance artist/teachers Arwyn Carpenter and Carol Anderson offer more adventures in moving creatively for teenage and adult dancers of all backgrounds. Classes are fun and designed for all movers of all ages and stages; each class includes warmup, dance class and improvisation/creation.
Dates: Saturday afternoon SEPTEMBER 23
1:30 to 4:30pm
Carol Anderson has pursued a long and diverse career as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, director and author. An avid dance writer, she has chronicled Canadian dance and dancers since the 1980s in a developing body of writing that includes biographies, collections, articles, notes, and essays. Recently retired from the Department of Dance at York University, she continues to write, teach and choreograph – and looks forward to spending more time at her place in the County where she’s cottaged for 21 years.
Arwyn Carpenter‘s aim as a teacher is to demystify dance classes for men and boys, for students of limited means, and for non-dancers of all body shapes and abilities. She believes the transferable skills achieved through dance include improved physical control and awareness, keener perception in relationships and interactions, and a greater sense of well being. She holds an MFA in Dance from NYU’s Tisch School and is an Ontario Certified Teacher currently teaching for the Toronto District School Board.
