An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Monday, repeating until November 2, 2020
This 3-week class is a ground-level introduction to drawing suited for all levels of experience. For students with some drawing background, it is also an opportunity to refresh your skills and strengthen your understanding of page dynamics, line power and visual language. Focus on developing confidence and comfort in skillset will be a top priority throughout these workshops.
Each class will involve demos and drawing focused on movement, gesture, simple masses, blind contour, full figure short and longer studies. Also foundations of light and shade with simple drapery studies.
A safe and comfortable learning environment is key to developing trust and confidence in creative development. Critique and open discussion within the class will be welcomed and encouraged.
Students will supply their own materials (18”x 24” or preferred drawing pad ) drawing board, paper: newsprint ideal, other sketchbook or photocopier bond okay
• drawing tools: conte crayon, charcoal, soft pencil or charcoal pencil
• kneaded eraser
• one stick each of red-brown, yellow and blue chalk pastel (Nupastel)
• plus any drawing materials that you may already have
