Fall smART Club for Kids

An event every week that begins at 9:30 am on Saturday, repeating until November 16, 2019
Seven (7) Saturday classes starting 5 October 2019. Have fun and be creative! New art projects and creative skills will be learned as well as making art a truly enjoyable and fun part of life! Ages 7 to 12.
OUR AMAZING FALL LINEUP OF INSTRUCTORS
OCT. 5th Nancy Davison ….a fun and interesting take on jewelry making.
OCT. 12th Arwyn Carpenter ..a “Dance About It” session where students will follow dynamic musical rhythms to develop sense of weight, swing, suspension and release. They will be guided through movement improvisations based on opposing qualities like bound vs. free, circular vs. linear, bumpy vs. smooth. They will work in groups to create dance recipes. And they will have a chance to bring stories from their own lives and “Dance About It”- bringing the stories to visual expressive life!
OCT. 19th Elizabeth Mulridge will teach the kids about the foundation and fundamentals of creating a story through illustrations and comics. We’ll be going through the comics structure, colours, character creation, what makes it tick as well to have fun with the final product.
OCT. 26th Rhonda Nolan…Kids will learn how to make a simple cover and binding for their comic book.
NOV. 2nd Krista Dalby….Lantern making…kids will make a simple lantern just in time for the “Firelight Lantern Festival”
NOV. 9th Laura Morris…Making art with mixed media, collage and paint.
NOV. 16th Julianne and Paul Snepsts…. Sketch Comedy Writing and Performance
Julianne and Paul will lead you through a series of writing and improv exercises that help you find the funny in everyday situations. Using traditional sketch comedy formats, kids will finish the session having written and performed their own comedic scenes that express their unique point of view.
Dates and Time: Saturdays – October & November; 5, 12, 19 & 26 October; and, 2, 9 & 16 November; 9:30 am to 12:00 noon
Cost: One Child $105, additional siblings $90 each
On the first day please arrive a little early for registration and details! The doors will be open at 9:00 am. Please ensure your child wears old clothes. They should bring snacks and water bottles if needed.
