An event every week that begins at 9:30 am on Monday, repeating until November 29, 2021
All successful paintings have one thing in common, good composition. By creating thumbnail sketches we will learn about directing the eye through a picture plane. Artist Jodi Shuster will teach composition techniques through the use of a viewfinder to crop and frame the subject, and explore scale, movement, negative and positive space. Understanding these elements will greatly improve your overall compositions.
About Jodi Shuster: Jodi is passionate about colour and gesture. Her feeling for gesture developed from countless hours of life drawing, and through decades of professional work in animation. Her paintings combine gestural strokes and lively colours expressing her joy and spontaneous reaction to her subjects.
She has shown her work in galleries in Toronto and Montreal as well as in solo and group exhibitions in Toronto, including Art Square Gallery, The Artist Project, The Toronto City Hall Show, Twist Gallery, and the Riverdale Art Walk.
