March 29, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 2:00pm on Friday, repeating until April 5, 2019
Using the time-honored tradition of the master copy, painters will select a masterwork to copy in either oil or acrylic. Instruction will focus on how to unlock and interpret the rich and useful information each master painting/reference has to offer. Painters will select masterworks from a list provided and will be guided, step by step through the process and techniques needed to complete the painted copy.
Dates: Fridays – March 22 and 29, April 5, (3 weeks), 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Cost: The three week session – $90. Students are expected to bring their own paints and other materials.
Supplies: A selection of photocopied masterworks will be available at the beginning of the class to choose from for your copy. Painters are encouraged to use either oil or acrylic for this class. Elizabeth will demonstrate using oil paint, but these demonstrations will be followed with one on one, individual instruction in the medium (oil/acrylic) of your choice.
Elizabeth Hutchinson Supplies Checklist is a suggested supply list for painters. In addition, please bring to the following to the class: several 8×10″ canvases; a few small foam brushes; notebook and pencil (all available at the Dollar Store).
Contact: Please feel free to contact Elizabeth via email with any questions you may have about supplies or the workshop at firstname.lastname@example.org. She will reply as soon as able.
About Elizabeth: Elizabeth was given a full year’s entrance scholarship at OCAD and finished her studies there in Experimental Art. She holds a degree in fine art from the University of Guelph and earned another scholarship to study at New York Academy of Art where she graduated, cum laude with an MFA in painting.
