Wild by Design Workshop: Naturalistic Planting – Putting Plants Together
March 29, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
While naturalistic planting may look remarkably carefree and informal, it actually requires a tremendous amount of planning to execute. The focus of this workshop will be helping participants understand the methods used by various naturalistic planting designers (profiled in the preceding lecture) to create their gardens.
Instructor Ben O’Brien will give an opening lecture outlining how plants can be put together based on their unique growth habits and architecture to make beautiful and easy-to-maintain combinations. In the workshop that follows, participants will be able to create their own planting plans and play with different ways of combining plants. One-on-one time with Ben, detailed plant palette documents, and sample planting plan worksheets will give each participant the confidence to take these methods home to try in their own garden.
Cost: Baxter Members $70; Non-members $75.
