Spring smART Club for kids
Seven Saturday classes starting March 14th, 2020. Have fun and be creative! New art projects and creative skills will be learned as well as making art a truly enjoyable and fun part of life! Ages 7 to 12.
Dates: Saturdays March 14, 21, 28; April 4, 11, 25; May 2; 9:30 am to 12:00.
March 14 – Making bracelets a la Kirei Samuel, with beads you design yourself…always popular!
March 21 – Elizabeth Mulridge will teach you how to create your own superhero zine…make up stories as your superheroes come to life, and have fun adventures along the way.
March 28 – Back by popular demand – creating with mixed media, collage, and paint…a continuation of last fall’s awesome painting class with Laura Morris.
April 4 – Saralou Millar and Rhonda Nolan will work with you to design and decorate your own Super Kid Cape. Fabric capes will be provided for you to design and embellish with paint and texture.
April 11 – Dance About It with Arwyn Carpenter. You will be guided through movement improvisations based on opposing qualities like bound vs. free, circular vs. linear, bumpy vs. smooth. Working in groups you will create dance recipes to bring your own stories to life and “Dance About It.”
April 25 – Discover fun new ways of thinking about and creating poetry with Leigh Nash: what it is, what it sounds like, how to write it, how to read it. You’ll leave with a shiny stack of your own new poems!
May 2 – sculptural collage with Rhonda Nolan – draw a head and body shot of your favourite zine character and see it come to life by applying layers of cloth, paper and embellishments.
